GW crashing seconds/minutes after loading
Hey all, right when we had that last fun weekend with double scrolls and stuff, my computer, no, BOTH my computers started crashing every few minutes, due to a "fatal error". I've seen people with the same error on here, and they find it's a memory problem or something, but mine seem different since both of my computers started crashing ONLY after the update.
Ideas? Anet have screwed up somewhere...perhaps they screwed up a line of code.
Do the usual to your comps..RAM check etc that has generally been the problem for everyone else. |

I've had a problem like this since Factions came out. My Factions preview worked fine, infact, I think it ran better than Prophesies, but once the full version came out that was the end of my enjoyment to the game. It's rare I can complete a mission now because I crash half way through or just before the exit.
Reinstalling didn't help me, and my RAM is fine. It could just be you're screwed over like me. |

I've been playing GW Nightfall most of tonight and then I logged off. 10 minutes ago when i logged back in, there was an update downloaded. After the update I selected my toon and after trying to load a map the game crashes with a similar error as OP. I'm mad, I do not want to reinstall the game as it would take so long to update all over again. I hope this is an error on ANet's part and they can fix it ASAP.

After they did that event update, it hasn't crashed at all, so I am assuming it was all on ANets end, and was some bad code that didn't let some commands through.

Just rememeber guys ANet found those corrput files that delayed the preview It is possible they missed something just be patient and they will resolve the problem i am sure..

I have the same Problems, and I tried everything (completely reinstall Windows, Guildwars, Memtest, sound-driver, graphic-driver (old and new drivers). Oblivion runs on my system, which could mean it should be good enough for Guild Wars, too. This problem is there since the last update of the game. I loved to play it for almost one year now, never having problems like now. Now I must say that Guild Wars is the worst experience I ever made. The idea is great, but there are other games, which I will try out. I mean a game should make fun, not problems. The people from Arena-Net just patch the game even faster, without giving the option to accept or not accept it, when the patch needs more hardware power. After all, I think the best is to say good bye (which is very very sad for me) to Guild Wars, because I do not want to By me a new computer or an expensive graphic card for hundreds of Euro. This is only a game. I will give my account to someone else, who would like to try it out. Nobody knows how far they will go, but a good game does not need hundreds of updates, as long as it is a good game (remember the classical Tomb-RaiderII? or UNREAL for example) and one will excuse even pixel-like-graphic.
